When Did Japan First Mint Coins? (#shorts #history #japan #currency)
This is a piece of history that brings in nuance to the discussion of Japan’s economy throughout history. The rich did have coins from China prior to this, but minting one’s own currency is a step in developing a country. It would last for about 300 years, but the currency became useless in the early 11th century. #japan #history #didyouknow #currency #ancient #coins #feudaljapan #historical #asia #asian #japanhistory #shortsvideo #shortsyoutube #shortsfeed #shorts #short #shortvideo #historyfacts #asianhistory #didyouknowfacts #japanesecurrency #japanesehistory #ancienthistory #ancientjapan

Nice. I have an old copper Japanese coin. There is no date on the coin but it’s estimated to be from 1739-1867.
