Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party officially has a new leader. Former Economic Security Minister Takaichi Sanae was elected by members on Saturday. She’s the first woman to ever lead the party.

Takaichi spoke to the media for the first time as leader. She laid out the priorities for her administration.
