i started as castile and i think its an amazing starting nation. i allied france so i got to experiment with military in the hundred years war while not risking too much. was able to conquer the other iberian countires and also build my realm 😀

Honestly, I played the tutorial and watched 10 other YouTubers to learn this. This is hands down the best run through I have seen. Funny, straight to the point. Simple. 600 hours in EU4 was child's play. This game is unbelievable.
Great video. I have about 9 hours already just looking at menus and one quick play through I failed as Holland. Some great tips and time savers here even for someone with time in game and coming from eu4

As someone who never played EU4 but has hundreds of hours in CK3 and Victoria 3. It sounds like having no EU4 experience might actually make it easier to learn and get into EU5 lol

this game is so complex i took a week off of work to learn it… im not joking
Playing as Hungary as my go to for learning this game. Tons of gold and silver. Good money. But then I realize that my institution spread is really slow compared to my neighbors. Building roads, libraries, etc. I’m trading with Venice, Genoa, Prague, etc but renaissance doesn’t seem to be spreading at all. Everything else like professional armies spreads just fine.
Only the OGs will remember the time without TIMESTAMPS.
As someone trying to get into EU games, what I don't understand is the idea that all sieges were either attrition or assault. Where's my bribery, surrender, arson, betrayal and hijinks? Garrisons are not automatons, they are but men.
