  1. What a misleading title

    1) 10-year JGB (cash yield proxy)
    • Mon 19 Jan close: ~2.274%
    • Wed 21 Jan close: ~2.29%
➡️ Yield change: +~2 bps (higher yield = slightly lower price)

  2. Before world war two lunatics started running governments, history repeats in a spiral, the same but with sufficient bad additions, for example, nuclear weapons.

  3. Understand Takaichi’s plan & believe that it would work in the US or SK. But given Japan’s society, I have my doubts that it can pivot to a high growth GDP economy in the short term.

  4. no worry
I have no idea why but Japanese love Takaichi.

  6. Like 90% of Japanese debt are owned by other Japanese. Interest payments stay inside Japan. This is a non-issue.

  7. Who benefits from military spending ? The economy especially domestic consumption have been sluggish for years, they should focus more on expanding people's purchasing power

  8. She will probably blame the immigrants for this.

Oh, and btw, to immigrate to Japan you need to pay what's around 7,000 dollars. (just to get there. Yet apparently you are the reason the government spending is so high…)

  9. This is why I admired Lee Kwan yew. He absolutely insisted that those who serve the government must have the educational background to do so and he cultivated a culture of fiscal responsibility. Hopefully the generation that he left behind don't follow other countries or succumb to foreign political pressure

  11. What is the real problem of Japan? I don't think it's the chinese. Don't they need an investment? Don't they need trade deals? What are they thinking? Don't they have young people with bright future? America has enough to feed its people can't sustain others anymore.
