Japan is Broke, Korea is Rich
On paper, Japan looks like a failed state with a debt-to-GDP ratio of 250%. South Korea looks like a model student with a healthy ratio of ~50%. But for the average citizen, the reality is flipped. Japanese households are sitting on a mountain of cash savings, while Korean households are drowning in the world’s highest private debt burden.

Then as an indian i am dead
Soon japan and its citizens will become broke. Such a public debt is not sustainable without massive inflation or the devaluation of the yen. Time for the japanese citizens to start living within their actual possibilities.

한국인입니다. 영상 잘 봤습니다. 공감되는 부분도 있습니다만, 일본 사정에 대해서는 잘 모르겠고, 한국 관련 언급한 부분에 대해서 말씀드리자면, 물론 영상에서 언급한 것처럼 가계 부채는 경계할 필요가 있다고 봅니다. 그러나 영상에서 주장하는 것처럼, 시한 폭탄 수준인지는 좀 검토해 봐야 합니다. 수차례 금융위기 등을 통해, 검증된 이론을 바탕으로 현재 한국에서는 엄격하게 LTV, DTI, DSR 등을 통해 부실을 관리하고 있습니다. 현재 한국 민간 부채의 높은 비중을 차지하는 그룹은 바로 고소득, 고신용자들로,, 이들의 특징은 상환 여력이 상당하다는 것입니다. 미국 섭프라임 모기지와의 주요 차이는 상환 여력이 없는 사람에게 융자 및 대출이 시행되었다는 것이고, 앞서 말씀드렸다시피 한국은 이러한 금융위기들로부터 교훈을 얻어 현재 부실을 방지하기 위한 2중 3중의 방어장치를 마련해서 시행하고 있다는 말씀을 드립니다. 또하나 한국의 특징은 부채를 통해 부동산을 확보했다는 것인데, 만약 부동산이 폭락하는 상황이 오게 된다면 모를까. 그렇지 않다면, 부동산 역시 그간 상당한 성장을 이룩해 왔기에, 유동성의 위기가 도래했을 경우, 민간에서는 이를 처분하여 충분한 상환 능력을 확보하게 된다는 말씀도 아울러 드립니다.

Before America haters blame the Plaza Accords, remember that the other parties to it (France, West Germany, and the UK) didn't develop manic bubbles like Japan did when all their currencies strengthened against the Dollar. Japan overspent and malinvested itself into its Lost Decade.
That says a lot about the flow of money in each of their economies…
USA, UK, France combined has MORE debt than Japan, don't do the factual errors next time! AI Slop needs to be checked!
