TSMC announces production of advanced AI chips in Japan • FRANCE 24 English

Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC, Asia’s most valuable company, has announced plans to produce 3-nanometre cutting-edge chips in Japan. Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi lauded the announcement as “the missing piece for the country” since she’s looked to bolster domestic chipmaking ahead of lower house elections on February 8. 1. Let me get this straight… A cutting edge FAB on a parcel of Earth… at the Intersection of FOUR Continental PLATES? Sounds… interesting!

  2. The real reason for opening advanced chip factories outside of the country of Taiwan is, to reduce China's imperialistic ambitions to annex Taiwan in order to dominate the world when having all advanced chip factories under Chinese control. By opening advanced Taiwanese chip factories in a number of other countries reduces China's imperialistic ambitions, but at the same time ensures that all countries still have their supply of microchips even when not bending to Chinese demands.

  3. By moving its most advanced manufacturing overseas, TSMC can safeguard its technology, maintain business continuity, and prevent supply chain disruption—even in the event of a China–Taiwan conflict. This diversification reduces geopolitical risk while preserving global access to critical semiconductors.

  4. What people don't know is Japan still hold the most important technologies. I phone is consit of about 2000 parts but more than 50 % are parts used Japanese technologies, and Taiwan have 20% China has only 5% .
Taiwan and Japan dominate new technologies and China is only assembling those products.

  5. American financial investment experts predict that by 2030, TSMC’s market value will exceed $8 trillion, making it one of the world’s top three companies. Its valuation will surpass the GDP of Germany, France, and Japan, and account for more than 40% of China’s total GDP!

  6. Awesome great place to build chips, better than France or the EU who would over tax and regulate them , not to mention sue them

  7. Taiwan is a brave country. They don't seem to know how Japan kicked Renault out of Japan and stole Korea's Line Messenger. There's something I predicted two years ago. TSMC is divided into two countries, the U.S. and Japan. It actually started with the leakage of two nano process technology
