Thank you for the update Br ❤ big inflation in all the world makes life hard
I think your inflation is caused by all the money printing the Bank of Japan has undertaken in the last 30 years or so. Japan's debt is now at eye watering levels and your currency has been devalued by the central bank.
Türkiye daha pahalı, dışarıda yemek de pahalı.
SAMURAIDADDY, I GUESS THE REASON WHY THE JAPANESE MAINTAIN THE LOW LEVEL INCOME IS TO MAINTAIN THE EQUAL DUSTRIBUTION OF CASH. HERE IN U.S. THERE IS NO LEVEL OF LOW INCOME DISTRIBUTION HOWEVER, THE GAP OF THE RICH AND THE POOR IS SO BIG. THE RICH BECOME RICHER WHILE THE POOR BECOMES POORER. IN SO SHORT MIDDLE CLASS CEASES TO EXIST. THERE IS NO FAIRNESS WHEN IT COMES TO INCOME LEVELS.
Are there any tall buildings or maybe a high bridge near you?
I saw this video. This is not a new video.😮
SAMURAIDADDY, WITH JAPAN'S LOW INCOME LEVELS LOTS OF FOREIGNERS EXPATS WILL BE RETIRING IN JAPAN. IF YOUR RETIREMENT PENSION IS ONLY $2,000 A MONTH, THIS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU TO SURVIVE. JUST IMAGINE THE RENT OF A ONE BEDROOM UNFURNISHED WERE I LIVED HERE IN DALY CITY, CALIFORNIA IS $3,000 A MONTH ABOUT Y480,000 YEN.
@SamuraiDaddy I like it when your videos focuses on finance and family. I like your financial analysis. Does the 30-year Yen Carry Trade have something to do with Japanese stagnation? 🤔
👋, Samurai Daddy, Sakura season are here.
Mcds japan for breakfast.
You've been eating. 🎉
You're at toranomon.
🍽 time.
Maruya, tonkatsu restaurant.
That egg McMuffin meal in Florida cost 10 bucks and a two bedroom apartment in a bad neighborhood is $3590 a month
I left Japan in 1986 so it looks like my timing was pretty good.as I missed "the lost 30 years". SD gets MINUS points for eating at McD's.
Lawson for 🍨 🎉.
Thanks!!!! 👍
Someone said that they saw this video before. Well I haven't and was shocked to see you eat McDonald's😄 Well at.least you have good taste in fast food. You are eating my favorites. When. I use to eat McDonald's, a sausage egg and cheese Mcmuffin and a hash brown always hit the spot for me. It was good to hear Earth Wind and Fire playing in the back ground as well as Bobby Caldwell! That created a very nostalgic moment for me. Thank you👍😊
I don't disagree with your assessment of the economic situation in Japan. For me, since I make a very high salary in comparison to the typcial Japanese salaryman, Japan is on sale and living there is inexpensive. I felt extremely rich when I visited a few weeks ago and was shocked at how inexpensive everything was. My Japanese fiance's parents asked me why I wanted to move to Japan and raise a family there instead of the US. One of the things I pointed out to them was I was richer in Japan (about twice as wealthy) simply by doing that. You couple that with the excellent child care and schooling in general, and it is ideal for me to raise our family in Japan. And since I speak English fluently and am very familiar with finance and business (I'm extremely good at making money and making my clients money), my children will have a lot of advantages over other Japanese that grow up there.
Honestly Samurai Daddy, it is very similar to what we face in my country. Our food prices are way up, as well as the unemployment rates. Many, many people need jobs right.now. We are all feeling the bite of current inflation.$100.00 can only buy a few items to add to a refrigerator or freezer. Times are getting hard fast!
Espero tu respuesta! Un saludo!
When asset value drops, all the expenditure such as wages have to be readjusted. Even in France, after the Greek subprime crisis in 2009, the wage stay flat for almost a decade. European financial banks called for financial support from sovereign countries to rebuild the lost value of banks to avoid price and wage dropping. The less support the country get, the harder is going to get back to the same wage level. A negative asset value means that your liabilities are over your asset, manifesting in an extra debt to deduce from your incomes. In some situations, it can lead to incapacity to pay and shut down the companies, in this situation , a financial support is mandatory. Japan situation was exactly the same but 20 years before, but with not so much support as Europe. Japan companies have supported an extra debt to pay, making the wage rise more challenging.
Countries economies are like a person they have some great years of money and hard work and then some years of decline and other countries grow more… I think you are wrong how you watch the full picture, my conclusion after being there is that japanesse elites takes care of their people like a "serious father" fair but serious and even if yen is weak for the moment life in big cities in Japan are still afordable to everyone, for ex a girl from Akita can came to live in Tokio and with the salary of a Kombini or simple jobs she can pay her basics needs, even study.. that is almost imposible in most of the big western cities of the world… If the elites let the " wild salaries market" then the 80% of people will suffer a lot while the other 20 % will increase their level a lot.. at short term sounds great but at long term is a total social disaster so they know what they are doing…
You saw the gap , then the wisest thing to do is to accept reality and make it work to your advantage.., you havea Chanel with 100 k suscribers.. well that is a fantastic window to create little business.. that will give you an extra income.. Even buy or rent one of this big traditional houses and make an hotel/restaurant.. with partners.. etc.. business are there but business mean more worries , less sleep and far more work… and most of the people is quite lazy…
SILVER IDEAS .. When I was in Japan in December I bought a few ounces of silver for 9000 yen… a month later their price was 15000 yen.. now decrease to 12000 but I believe in a decade will arrive to 30 000 yen… so if you know some things made of silver like spons, cups, figures, etc.. that you can get for little now… cause they are "old and unfashion" get them at good price.. and in a few years.. clin, clin )))). I have more ideas, I just learn to keep silence if I am not asked )))..so if you wanna know.. ask )))

Is it true that large Japanese companies hire a quota of newly graduated students? And then the newly hired people either decide to leave on their own or stay. I guess they get shifted around until they have a permanent position in the company. Some US companies do the same thing. The food prices in Japan is relative to the foreign visitor's money valuation to the yen. In US dollars, food in Japan is cheap. People used to complain about high rent in Japanese cities, but now they are able to find reasonable rentals to live in the outskirts of the cities, sometimes an hour train ride away.
From an overall and foreign perspective, Japan is described as a country to invest into but has not met the foreign investment fund required to finance the wage raise.
wow…
It doesn't help Japan's stagnant economy by taking an unpopular stand against its large trading partner next door. The only people who will suffer will be the ordinary people. Better to concentrate on growing its internal economy rather than getting involved in big power geopolitics. With the advent of Ai, even digital nomads will eventually be redundant. So there is not much opportunities there now as opposed to before unless your skills are exceptionally rare, in demand and you can contribute from Japan.
Every interesting analysis. Thank you again for the time and effort you put into these presentations.
It' s a pity, that you consider 'life' ONLY as destined for economic purposes. Maybe this 'narrowing mind' also exposes the problematic relationship with your wife and son. "Something seems to be missing": you should try to discover what it is, that keeps you locked into yourself. Best wishes. [When I was once in Japan, many many years ago, it had still the reputation to be an expensive country…]
Supply and demand dictates wages. Too much supply of labor. Same thing with the USA with the H1B visa migrant workers flooding the market along with illegal aliens. Keeps wages down.
Have a good day
OECD data shows that the percentage change in average earnings from 1990 to today has been: USA + 48%, UK + 47%, Germany + 42%, France + 37%, Japan + 8%, Italy + 1%

Geo-arbitrage won't solve Japan's economics. It will only benefit a few individuals such as yourself. You need bold leaders to make bold moves to benefit the whole country. Look at China. It's leaders set a course for the country and pulled it up from being one of the poorest and backward to challenging US for global dominance nowadays. Singapore was also poor in the 60's and its leader set a course that changed its future.
Wow 😳 video super 💯 Perfect lesson of Economy. From today on, you'll be my mentor on Economy!!!!
Samurai Daddy forever!!🇮🇹🇯🇵 Ciao Monica
You must visit Taiwan if there is any chance. You’ll find that how high is your salary while comparing with Taiwan workers.
