  1. Enjoyed your vlog. Especially wnjoyed your commentary on the food service. Was laughing when you get the 2nd pre-landing meal of chicken and pasta followed by "yes, I am a greedy bastard way too much into airline food"! Me too, me too but I don't eat much on flights so your vlog is a treat.

  2. This was great. Thanks! Small chance I could end up on ANA later this year from Europe to Japan, so it's nice to know how it may shake out.

  3. I missed a real good deal (480€) on teh direct ARN-HND when they opened the route last year. Alas, no so much PTO or money for it… Lovely review, might might be an option if I ever go to Japan.
The locked windows, ah it's my pet peeve. Last when I realised on LH747 we had nice views off asian coast yet the whole cabin had the unwritten rule of keeping it dark. I just lifted it a quarter open and looked as much as possible. Lady sitting in front didn't appreciate but people… how often can you watch movies homes vs. seeing the Bay of Bengal landscape at cruise altitude?!?

  4. 5:46 I've never used airport kiosk check-in or self bag-tagging because either I'm able to do online check-in and have a carry-on, or because I'm on an award ticket for a premium cabin and just go to the counter… but I kinda want to try this. I realize that sounds dumb 🤷

  5. I haven't flown JAL yet but I will be an ANA for a long time. As a German and someone who doesn't like Transit flights their offering in alliance with Lufthansa is just the best for me. I also prefer their brand representation with all the cool special liveries or their Pokémon safety video.

But I personally doubt that JAL would charge less for the same routes but yeah they are very expensive.

  6. I make the return trip at least once a year, and as I want a direct flight, ANA is my only choice unless I depart from a neighboring country. My luggage failed to transfer once in Frankfurt, never again!

And yes, I also hate it when they lock down the window shade to closed. But it does depend on the crew whether they do it or not. And I do hope that when they refurb the interiors, they keep the legroom, because that's one thing I can't complain about in their economy.

  7. Great Video! I love ANA, always take them over Lufthansa between MUC-HND, since its a code-share and same prices.

  8. I’m so happy you’ve released a new video it’s been like 2 months I’ve always loved your videos you are my favourite airline reviewer out of the hundreds out there another banger video

  9. I flew the 12h basic economy with vege meal on the Vienna – Tokyo – Vienna route last week.

Amazing crew and service, great food, a lot of legroom. On the way to Tokyo the CUP RAMEN was available, not on the way back though. Maybe it is based on the time of day schedule?

The Japanese toilet seat alone is worth the extra cost 😂.

  10. I’m heading to Japan in a couple months on ANA, though it’s on a 777 and not a 787. From what I’ve seen though, their 777-300ER economy class is pretty nice so I’m looking forward to it

  11. Used this route but to muc instead and it was actually pretty great did definitely not regret, the only disappointment i had was they locked the windows the whole flight to dark

  12. As a frequent traveller from Germany to Japan, the bad habit of dimming the windows against my will keeps me away from flying ANA and avoid any longhaul flight with the 787 at all! This habit takes away my fun and love of flying completely and I absolutely hate to sit in a darkened cabin when there is bright daylight outside! But apart from that – keep up the fantastic work!

  14. I would t have thought corn and mayo buns were that uncommon in Europe. We have them in many bakeries here in Australia. They are a nice savoury snack. I swear I saw them in German bakeries while working there (the chain ones). You can also get them with tuna and mayo and some times shredded chicken and mayo. I suppose they are a form of sandwich as well can certainly get readymade corn and mayo sandwiches at petrol stations etc

  15. Korean air used to have cup ramen in economy but stopped serving it due to safety issues with hot water

  16. I love ANA so much, comfy seats, great food and definitely friendly cabin crew. I got a postcard of the 3 Flying Honus as they were handing it out. Managed to take a picture with one of the FAs as well with my friend. I wish I can fly ANA again 🥹

Also I have a request for you, if you have the time, can you interview the Malaysia Airlines A330NEO? I don’t think any major airline reviewer hasn’t tried it and I want you to be the first 🙂 but yeah this is just a request

  17. I prefer taking the keikyu airport line over the monorail. It's faster, cheaper and actually goes to the city core. I flew on their 787-9 between YVR and HND last month and I pretty much agree with your assessment. One difference is they didnt' hand out the menu cards but rather, they showed it to you during meal service. Overall, the hard and soft product is great and you really have to nitpick to find faults, such as the weak selection on their IFEs and the cold breakfast snacks. It's really down to whether you can find a good deal or not.

  18. Flew HND to LAX on ANA's 787 in the very last row and it was the most legroom ive ever had in economy + it wasn't a full flight so there was no seat neighbor
