  1. Japan changing totally inline with China's massive and quick military build up. Then Russias war with ukraine and now trump showing himself to be an unreliable ally and pro Russian means the govt would be negligent if didn't rearm

    Japan was never a land of pacifism. You don't understand Japanese culture, their peaceful indifference was not "pacifism", any surface level "pacificism" was forced upon them by the changes to Japanese government with their surrender at the end of WW II.

    There recent increase in military forces is a DIRECT result due to the threat of RUSSIA (and their incursion into Ukraine and Russia threatening Iran and other Middle East region, but the Japanese Gov't aren't going to publicly say that's the reason for the increase in military force. They prefer peace, but will defend themselves if directly threatened by N.Korea or Russia
