Amazed how many want to bet against America and hope that we fail. The panic is just that panic. America GDP is $30 trillion – just 4 trillion could be subject to tariffs. Everyone needs to calm down. Tariffs seem to work for every other country and when Trump responds everyone thinks the world is ending.
CNBC needs to grow up, the parsing what the definition of negotiation is? really
Japan has no tariff on US cars they don't need it the Japanese people would not buy an American car they only buy Japanese.
Meanwhile Japan will be asking for the US to remove the chicken tax. US has had high taxes on Trucks for quite awhile. Remove these taxes and US autos would be in serious trouble as Japan could build a superior 3/4 and 1 ton truck for US markets but they have been locked out.
People want their Switch 2 😂
They don’t know what the hell they’re doing!!
tariffs in japan is 2%. how do you fullfil what the orange idiot wants
Canada and Mexico negotiated and signed a trade deal with Trump too. How did that work out? The US has lost its credibility on the international stage.
Trump is not that different than typical maga
Trump doesn't want any Deals …. !!!!
No need to negotiate. Just stop buying beyond the America can afford.
😂😂😂😂 It's a comedy after Navarro said zero tariffs is not enough
Japan has many non-tariffs that keep us from selling into their markets and I can't believe Israel had any tarifs on US given how much we give them. I think it might be time to consider taking Israel off the tit
Japan needs to appreciate its currency, buy way more from the US, and drop all tariffs and non tariff trade barriers. Only then can its tariff rate go to the flat 10% rate.
One country where Donald wants a Trump Tower. Give us a break. Just let the US sink a bit for a little while and experience how the push for free trade 45 years ago disconnected the whole US manufacturing base. Take a decade to go it alone, but will wipe out 80% of Americans Financially. Won’t affect the million Americans living on mars by 2050 – that’s what Elon is promising in his attempt to pump his stock.
Trump wants countries to basically beg. Just like he does with everyone else. He makes everything about himself and how hes always treated unfairly. He thinks he’s a king.
I think that Trump has a cerebral palsy and should have guardianship
Trump negotiated trade deal with Canada, Mexico in his first term and decided not to honor the deal! Why would any country should trust us?
Navarro need to get fire
Bessent’s a genius. 😂
USA throwing away its economy to protect Chevy and Ford is wild. Throwing away $10T plus for Detroit… 😂
I love my President , thank you to this administration for caring about all Americans .
Watch India will be second and he will claim credit for the Quad❤
Why is Bessent negotiating, did Lutnick get sidelined?
edit: Or is the main negotiation actually not about trade, but about US treasuries stability?
No country in their right mind should deal with the scum trump. Trump will rob them, cheat them, spit on them on the way out the door.
Stay away from trump. He's cancer.
Negotiations or groveling to our emperor Donny
Closest ALLIES 🤣🤣🤣America doesn’t have any!!!!
Trump about to make everyone look dumb 😂😂😂
I want to know what the penguins are going to give up in the negotiations?
Japan is at 4.3% general goods tariff. We hit them with 24%. So, is America really going to go down to sub 4% to get Japan to be lower than they previously were?
wtf. Better call the penguins.
Bessent is an embarrassment to the U.S.
but NASDAQ is ONLY 22% DOWN since 20/Feb/2025. Next 78% DOWN SOON. U CAN Definitely DO IT TRUMP 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
According to the USA, Japan's food safety standards and its vehicle safety standards are all "trade barriers". However that's silly, they are there to protect the Japanese population, and it applies to every country if their imports are to reach Japan, it isn't specific to the USA, it's something Japanese companies themselves have to abide by.
Trump wants Japan to basically scrap all their safety regulations so the USA and dump hoards of unsafe cars there, and hoards of GMO, hormone, steroid etc contaminated food there, I highly doubt the Japanese government will agree to lift any of these safety regulations, because that would spell political death for them, the opposition party would have a field day.
The USA should learn to increase its own standards instead of demanding other countries lower theirs. Even here in Australia we actually don't have a ban on US beef despite what Trump claimed, we have a strict safety regulation and imported beef has to pass that, no matter where it comes from, it turns out that US beef is rarely imported here as it doesn't pass the food standard, it isn't banned however, if the USA produced beef that could pass the standard, it is allowed in etc.
There is widespread confusion here in Japan because Trump is pressuring the country to import more American cars, even though Japan already has zero tariffs on them. The real issue is that large American cars are poorly suited for Japan's narrow roads and urban environment, and U.S. manufacturers have made little effort to adapt. Tesla is the only exception, with notable sales. What Trump calls "non-tariff barriers" are actually due to the lack of adaptation by American car makers. If negotiations are to be productive, they should focus on areas like agriculture, where tariffs do exist.
American Class Action; why not?
A month ago Jamie Raskin floated the concept of bringing a Class Action Complaint against Trump & his administration on behalf of the American People. Why hasn't anyone done this?
1. Trump swore to uphold the Constitution, yet he has intentionally bombarded Americans with shockingly unconstitutional Executive Orders DAILY.
2. Trump appears to be, per Jakeem Jeffries, "intentionally crashing the economy to create opportunity buying for the rich."
3. Trump has taken so many actions DIRECTED AGAINST the American people it's entirely impossible to count. The big three being the gutting of Medicare, Social Security and the V.A., actions members of Congress have condemned as "intentionally cruel and unconstitutional".
4. And then there's Elon Musk.
As we all know, in the very first days of Trump 2.0 the FIRST thing he did was send Elon Musk to PHYSICALLY RAID the U.S. Treasury. Musk ejected every last employee , including Federal Security Guards, locked the doors to the Treasury building and installed his own Security Guards armed with AK-47s. Then he had his "Big Balls" minions literally camp, sleeping bags et al, inside the U.S. Treasury building 24/7 for a week.
Does anyone, besides Trump and Musk, really KNOW what they did during their week long camp-in? We KNOW they robbed the U.S. Treasury of something. But Who. Knows. What?
They could have robbed Fort Knox for all we Americans, and Congress, know.
And mind you, THAT is not so far fetched.
Since Fort Knox – the "United States Bullion Depository" (www.usmint.gov) – opened in 1936, 89 years to date, it has only been opened three times for non-employees; Mitch McConnell in mid 1970s and Donald Trump in 2017 during the first year of his first presidency. I can't remember the third politician, but am pretty sure it was early in 20th century, prior to the McConnell & Trump visits. I also recollect that that politician was also a Republican.
I found those facts, and more, a month ago when I researched the government "Bullion Deposit" web page at http://www.usmint.gov, toying with the really crazy idea Trump might rob it. I'd read an article, I believe in February 2025, that Trump was planning to take Musk "on a visit to Fort Knox."
A few minutes ago I wanted to re-find the name of the third politician mentioned above for this letter. But just now, when I tried to revisit the govt Bullion Depository page I found that the page no longer exists. The "Bullion Depository info." tab still exists on the USmint.gov menu, but when you click on it it goes to a page stating "PAGE NOT FOUND ERROR 404"
Call me really crazy…or maybe it's Trump.
According to the 27 psychiatrists who wrote the 2015 book, warning us about "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump" prior to the 2016 election, "Trump is a clear and present danger to American Society and the safety of America itself. "
Most of us, I'm pretty sure, have come to the same conclusion. Trump is clearly out of his mind…plagued by a dangerous, narcissistic psychopathology and he is clearly unfit to run out country.
What I really want to know is; Do the American people have a Constitutional RIGHT to a SANE President?
Worthy lawsuits are being filed every day, but why are we, metaphorically, using hammers and nails when what is needed is a SLEDGEHAMMER and a SILVER SPIKE?
I'm temporarily exhausted and not well enough informed, at this point, to know exactly WHO or WHICH entity could file a Class Action lawsuit, on behalf of the American people, against Trump.
All I know is that Rep Raskin is the one who originally suggested it.
I hope I'm not coming off as ungrateful for ALL the hard work everyone is doing. It's just that I, and most every one I know, is now trying to negotiate daily life from an angry, overwhelmed, diminished state of mental shock…and awe…which was Trump's plan all along, wasn't it?
Hi, I want to start investing but don’t know where to begin. Any tips or contacts?
