The moment the Osaka Expo mascot was stolenーNHK WORLD-JAPAN NEWS #shorts
Staff at the Baltic Pavilion, a joint Latvian-Lithuanian exhibit at Expo 2025, say a plush toy of the official character disappeared from a stand near the entrance on May 13. Myaku-Myaku had been displayed alongside the pavilion’s own mascot. Pavilion staff posted security camera footage online. A spokesperson says they are not seeking punishment, but released the video “as a reminder to visitors to the Expo site to keep an eye on their belongings.” In the meantime, a guest has donated a balloon version of the mascot.
