if you read the piece on food security that was published by Langley Esquire maybe two weeks ago you’ll know that the average uh age of rice farmers or farmers in general in Japan is uh almost 69 years old There’s nobody to succeed them Their sons have gone on to to universities and move to the um the higher population areas of Tokyo Osaka Kyoto Fukoka and um so the number of farmers is really decreasing So the Japanese government is trying to address that by making it more attractive for people to stay into farming and also to uh initiate more hybrid uh high-tech AI uh technologies into farming
