Trump announces 25 per cent tariffs on Japan and South Korea via letters

Well, Donald Trump has announced a 25% tariff on goods from Japan and South Korea. He revealed a sample of the tariff letters that his administration will be sending to leaders of other countries as well. The US president posted on his Truth Social account several screenshots of the letters that he sent to Japan and South Korea. The beginning of the near identical letters read, “It’s a great honor for me to send you this letter in that it demonstrates the strength and commitment of our trading relationship and the fact that the United States of America has agreed to continue working with your country despite having a significant trade deficit with your great country. Nevertheless, we’ve decided to move forward with you, but only with more balanced and fair trade,” he said. Therefore, we invite you to participate in the extraordinary economy of the United States, the number one market in the world by far. The president is threatening to raise the tariffs on Japan and South Korea if they reciprocate with levies of their own. He’s also postponing the July 9 deadline that countries need to make a deal with the US if they want to avoid further penalties. The president will also sign an executive order today delaying the July 9th deadline to August 1st. So the reciprocal tariff rate or these new rates that will be provided in this correspondence to these foreign leaders um will be going out the door uh within the next month or deals will be made. And in the effort of transparency, these letters will continue to be posted to Truth Social. So uh you can enjoy them yourself. 1. Clearly most Magats don't understand how tariffs work? They stupidly declare the other countries will face the penalty for not making a deal, and hence forth will now pay additional tariffs imposed by TACO. These dummies are oblivious to the fact THEY are paying the tariffs, not them.

  2. DJT is nothing more than a bully when it comes to business. As a Salesman he would be fired. His forecasting of tariff deals is so bad it’s essentially gaslighting Americans. He said a couple of months ago they were working on 70 deals. That’s right 70! What happened to them. His closing ration absolutely sucks. Anyone in sales can relate. The man has a lack of understanding when it comes to policies and the collateral damage his irrational decisions causes. Nothing is getting noticeably less expensive, if anything prices are still creeping up. I do believe he said he would lower prices during the campaign but I guess that was just a false promise for votes. 🤦‍♂️😵‍💫🤢

  3. Kick American out of there bases you stupidly gave the USA how dumb and stupid are the Japanese to allow this clown to dictate you must put a tariff on all the USA bases around the world

  4. Trump is just using South Korea as an example to teach Japan how to behave. South Korea's special trade delegation to the US has already expressed strong willingness to capitulate, and so by putting SK and Japan in seemingly the same boat, Trump expects that Japan can lower their pride and follow suit.

  5. The president more importantly will need to expedite a reply to the who demands to take control of responses to medical emergencies, as defined by director of who & possibly the un. Plus president trump can assist other countries voters by putting pressure on other, elected or non-elected head of states. Deadline is approaching within days & hours.
This response would be very appreciated for the safety of the “free” world, or perceived free people.
    Greatly appreciated.

  6. Us consumers eat this tariffs 😂 they made their own life tougher. Imagine drinking your coffee and the price is 25 to 35 percent higher than the usual 😂 and these maga heads think it doesnt efect them

  7. With President Trump taking office, the United States has abandoned even the bare minimum of its justification as a nation that protects world peace, and has admitted that it is a mercenary nation obsessed with money. It is both funny and sad to see it shitting on its own face like this.
