Classic Japanese Brands are losing out to Chinese automakers #shorts

Nissan Honda Toyota Suzuki all iconic Japanese car brands that have now fallen victim to the assault of China’s automakers in the last six years with byd dominating its Home Country Japanese brand seated ground to domestic rivals in the world’s largest car market in Southeast Asia with the exception of Toyota Japanese car makers are losing ground Japan’s 50% stronghold in the Singapore car market is history even in countries like Indonesia where almost all the cars sold in 2019 came from Japan Chinese Rivals are putting decades old loyalties to the test in North America the Resurgence of hybrids has benefited Japanese automakers tariffs on Chinese electric cars in Europe and the US has also worked in their favor but the liks of byd are doubling down on setting up local manufacturing to escape the punitive tariffs meanwhile car makers in Japan are investing in solid state batteries in vehicle software and attempting to match the luxury features found in Chinese EVS still lagging behind in fully electric vehicles has cost them dearly in China

The once undefeated Japanese champions like Toyota, Honda and Nissan are losing out to Chinese carmakers like BYD at a worrying pace.

  1. Capitalism and trades aren't not new to China. The ancient Silk Route enabled China to trade in all manners of goods, silk among them of course. So being very competitive in trades is NOT beyond the Chinese. Of course, competitions bring out the best of the innovations.

  2. Toyota 🇨🇦 :no incentives and rebate. Wanna buy a new hybrid? Sure, U will be put on the waiting list unless you have a Toyota certified used car to trade in.

  3. It's called competition, not an assault. We are tired of the negative connotations when it comes to China just because they are innovating and some people think they are entitled to dominate the market forever.

  4. Assault 😂😂 it's called fair competition. As a consumer if there is a technologically superior, safer, better quality alternative that's CHEAPER, why the hell would you not go for it? Ridiculous propaganda against China as usual.

  5. Chinese just provided more options to the car buyers. That's a good thing no? From the title you sounded like Chinese car assaulted the car buyers. Typical western media bias

  6. Correction, they are not doing EVs well in Japan. Tesla and China are both making Japense autos look pathetic. All legacy including the Japenese are not keeping current with new production methods that make better and cheaper autos. Just so hppens that the newer production methods also kick butt with good EVs.

  7. Bloomberg, trying to instill hate in subconscious of viewers using words like "assault". Why can't Americans be more gentlemen and fair? Tricking viewers and propagating fake news makes the world sick of American news media.

  8. American media has such bias it’s almost insufferable. Lol. They are really desperate. It’s hard when the world doesn’t think much about your automakers. So you use media to attack others.

  9. Not surprised at all. I’ve a Camry and the UI is awful. I still don’t know why the media keeps stating all state batteries. Toyota would have shown it by now. They don’t have

  10. Who asked them to sleep? The Chinese managers must have told the Japanese Head office the need to adapt to local market but they didn’t listen. It happened in all industries in China.

  11. I love my 2013 Toyota kluger (or highlander for most of the world) and are planning to keep it for at least another 5 years…. I love it so much that whenever I shop new car I always say it to my self that I should get a Toyota… but oh my god, Toyota cars looks like cars made in the 2000's with it dated interior…

  12. Ya, but this also happened to them in the 90's with JVC, Panasonic, Hitachi, Toshiba, etc… they had a good run for decades and customers were always happy as was I.
