Think your Seiko watch was made in Japan? You might want to double-check.

In this episode of 1-Minute Watch Insights, we uncover a lesser-known fact about Seiko watches. While Seiko is a legendary Japanese brand, not every Seiko is fully made in Japan. In fact, most aren’t.

👉 Flip your watch over and look at the case back.

If it says “Japan Movt.”, “Movt. Japan”, or nothing at all — only the movement is from Japan. The rest of the watch was made elsewhere.
But if it says “Made in Japan” — congratulations! You’ve got a fully Japanese-made Seiko, from movement to final assembly.
