EU and Japan strengthen trade alliance amid global tensions
The launch of a new competitiveness alliance was the key outcome of the EU Japan summit held in Tokyo on Wednesday. Japan marked the first stop on a week-l long Asia tour for European Commission President and European EU. Together with Japanese Prime Minister Shiger Shiva, EU leaders discussed strengthening ties focusing on security but also economic cooperation in a bit to reduce reliance on China for critical materials.
