Trump takes victory lap after tariff deals with EU and Japan

President Donald Trump is taking a victory lap over his latest tariff deals with the European Union and Japan. In both cases, uh the EU with its 27 member states and Japan will have their goods taxed at 15% by the United States. Meanwhile, Trump says US products will face no tariffs in those countries. He’s talking about investments those countries are going to make into the United States. And to him, it is a good sign that his strategy works. But we don’t know how durable a victory this is because it could be that those taxes are ultimately borne by US consumers and businesses. It might be that the manufacturing jobs don’t come back. So, we’re still in the opening stages. Just because it looks like a win at first doesn’t mean it will be a win in the long run.

President Donald Trump is getting his way with the world economy. But high tariffs are likely to raise prices for American consumers and businesses that rely on imports and make the U.S. economy less efficient over time.

  1. Ursula von der Leyen capitulated so the feminized EU could launder more US money thru Ukraine and strut around like the big dog.

  2. Forcing our ALLIES to bend to your will is not the same as bending China and Russia. Massive fail when the Europeans and Japanese start expanding their trade to rely less and less on the US. Which will happen after this.

  3. The USA finally has a President willing to fight for us. The media will always ankle bite Trump no matter how many wars he stops are how many economic wins he gets for us.
