SUDDENLY Bessent DEFENDS China as U.S. Tech Collapses & Japan’s Exports Crash
Donald Trump’s trade strategy, led by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, was designed to corner China by cutting it off from cheap Russian oil and gas. The plan aimed to raise costs for Chinese factories, making U.S. goods more competitive. Instead, the strategy backfired. China increased purchases of Russian oil, shifting payments into yuan, undermining the dollar’s role in global trade. Beijing also expanded ties with Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other exporters, ensuring long-term energy security.
The unexpected twist came when Bessent himself defended China’s right to buy Russian oil, calling it business as usual. Yet he sharply criticized India, accusing New Delhi of profiteering from reselling Russian energy. This double standard highlights Washington’s reluctance to confront Beijing directly while redirecting pressure toward India, an easier target despite being a key U.S. partner and Apple’s new iPhone production hub.
The economic stakes are massive. China once purchased over $26 billion of American agricultural products annually, nearly a third of U.S. soybeans. When Beijing cut imports during earlier tariff clashes, silos overflowed and farmers faced collapse. Washington scrambled to provide billions in subsidies, but no program could replace China’s market size. A complete cutoff would devastate farmers in Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska, drive bankruptcies, and ripple into equipment makers like John Deere and port exporters.
The tech sector is equally exposed. The U.S. depends on Chinese supply chains and rare earth minerals essential for semiconductors, smartphones, EVs, and military hardware. Any Chinese export curbs could paralyze Silicon Valley within weeks. Apple’s $ billions shift into India was meant to reduce dependence, but U.S. sanctions are now hitting India as well, proving no partner is safe from Washington’s shifting policies.
Japan, America’s closest Asian ally, is also struggling under these pressures. In July, Japanese exports dropped 2.6% year-on-year, the steepest fall in four years. Shipments to the U.S. collapsed over 10%, while tariffs on Japanese cars cut deepest. A recent deal lowered tariffs from 25% to 15%, but that’s still six times higher than the historic 2.5% rate. As a result, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan face thinner profits, potential price hikes, or job cuts.
Japan also posted a trade deficit of 117.5 billion yen ($795 million) in July, while core inflation stayed high at 3.1%, with food prices up over 8%. Combined with record debt and demographic decline, Japan’s economy is cornered.
The broader irony is clear: sanctions meant to weaken China are straining U.S. farmers, tech firms, and allies like Japan and India. The question remains—who is really winning this trade war?

Trump’s Worst Nightmare: Japan Ditches U.S. for BRICS After Tariffs – https://youtu.be/CquFACZszsk
Chinese exports to the US are increasing all the time. It seems US is scared to take on China and instead is acting tough against countries like India and Japan. US is also not taking any action against Russia. So how is this strategy making US great again?
India can be bullied easily…..Thank Modi for that…
First of all, US government should look into the mirror and ask why US have been a capitalism nation for decades and produced so many billionaires and business empires. Greed and money. If India capitalized on cheap Russia oil, what this business dealing got anything to do with US, or the west? India and China NEVER complaint when US became so rich from its capitalism and greed. US government have crossed so many red lines.
Peasants seems to be stronger than the US…LOL
Trump and his team are scared of Xi and his team. Bessent looks so funny when he opened up his mouth about China…clown
Business is all about profitering , thé west was bragging for centuries about that à d suddenly its illegals 🤡🤡🤡🤡
What you want to do if Indian family are getting rich it's non of your business we Inidans will deal with it … A capitalism economy saying about profits of india
Trump's administration turns back so often that it is comical and a little pathetic.
Bessent doesn't speak to brightly. In fact he mumbles like a half-witted person. Why is everyone in Trump's barrel a spoiled apple?
is really funny., after china is now india. what does USA get out of this?
Indian political and bureaucrats rogues should at least realise that America is not trustworthy. India betrayed most trustworthy friend Russia by leaning towards west led by hegemonic US.
The renowned American economist and political analyst Prof . Jeffrey Sachs has warned India not to fall pray to the American designs and antagonise China.
Now the truth has become obvious.
watch for "China is our ally, we need them as they need us".
HAHAHAAAAA
Trump is a bully, Bessent a Limp Dic%. God Help America.
Is the secretary against prophet, who could believe that. That is his life’s goal, make profit out of everything. 1:42
Because he tried to fool China again. Just hope China is smart enough to see it through.
India is just profiteering 🤣🤣🤣 Of course they are! They were smart and found the loophole and US doesn’t like it 🤣🤣🤣
By ignoring Uncle Sam, it'll be not a matter of if but when the US will fall apart. 😢😢😢😢
The USA is worse than India in profiteering. It blew up the Nordstream pipeline and sells high-priced gas and fuel to Germany and Europe. Just can't imagine a great hypocrite the USA can be.😬
What if Trump is actually a China Spy?
Americans are exceptional !
We do whatever we want, you don't !
One has to admit to the fact that Ambanis had made a trillion buying and selling Russian oil. Indians don't like it when Americans point it out. Ruling government in india is not actually defending itself but defending it's greatest contributor at the expense of the Indian public.
One fact stands out:
If Russian oil was cheap why the Government did not reduce petrol prices in india ?
Because they were nit selling the Russian import in india.
But the fact remains that America has no right to question a commercial venture of an Indian company. But Indians are made to believe that it is our national pride being questioned. That is wrong.
Bankruptor of casinos at the helm! 😂😂
What is, wrong with India profiteering. That is the essence of Free Trade.
America had better change its attitude to the world.
bessant dan Trump hanya pembohong dan manipulator pelihan mayoritas warga AS,…

Maybe if USA negotiated in good faith and friendliness with China, it could’ve avoided all this stupidity.
