XRP Goes Viral , Ripple New York Times, Garlinghouse Moons Ago, Japan Economy, Vivo Power, Solana

One of the key things and we did the kind of white house we’re walking we’re walking. Uh one of the things we did to talk about that is how the brand of any company is really at the heart and it’s a reflection of the products they build and the products you build are a reflection of the people you employ. [Music] Hey everybody, it’s Eddie from Tokyo. This is your cryptocurrency update from Japan and that was Brad Garlinghouse in the intro many moons ago during his Yahoo days when Yahoo and AOL merged. I’m sure he learned a lot about brand. One of the most precise positionings I’ve ever seen in the blockchain space is Ripple. We’ll listen to more of that. But on this day that’s filled with a lot of tough news, let me see if I can bring you some relief. Japan, who has a business mood that hits a 4year high based on a Bank of Japan survey and 8,836 companies, of which 99.4%, look at that high percentage, responded as of this last Friday. So it marks a positive start for the year of the horse. And I can tell you a weak yen is very welcomed not only for the manufacturers but to continue their inbound tourism. Now this is funny. This is Coindesk Japan and they have rebranded their media to Natada News. Now, for those of you who speak Spanish, natada means nothing. So, I can’t believe in a global age as we all live in today, they would actually decide to use the word nada as in nothing news. I don’t know even if it’s Japan centric. I can’t believe that companies make these kinds of mistakes. We’ve got a report from Salana. They cite the 10 most viral clips that occurred from their big event called Breakpoint 2025. And it includes Raul, of course, as I say, because he’s so popular, especially in times when we are struggling with price and macroeconomic news. We always are looking to his clarity. Uh he’s usually been spoton. and he’s a big macro guy. And I think, you know, between he and Jordi Visser, and I will tell you, Jordi Visser and Pompiano have a weekly Friday uh podcast that is turning out to be fabulous. So, if you haven’t caught it or you’re not catching it on a regular basis, he is just amazing. this Jordy Visser and Pompiano does a fantastic job at pulling all of that information out and allowing him to speak and take a stage as he does without any interruptions. I just love it. So, I’m giving you a heads up. That’s a good one to seek out. But in addition to Raul being one of the top 10, we’ve also got Ripple’s Luke judges when he made the announcement regarding XRP is now on Salana with the custodial help from Hex Trust. Now understanding that Hex Trust provides that custody for the onetoone backing of the digital asset XRP for a wrapped XRP to go across to Salana to be used in all sorts of different types of DeFi protocols. This announcement which came out on the 12th of December from R3 should give you a little bit of a whoop. Let me take a look at this. R3 announced that they are launching Corda Protocol on behalf of R3 Foundation on Salana to bring institutionalgrade curated yield. Now, what does this have to do with XRP? Well, because of that hex trust, XRP has the possibility of being used in that DeFi mechanism with R3 because it’s not just stable coins that will be used, but also other digital assets according to their press release. House of XRP asked me, will any of the amazing new developments make the price increase? Well, this is how I answered. Most retail investors lag in understanding cross-chain technology in my opinion and institutional investors are slow because they rely on analyst reports and data. Here’s a little something I found in my research today. It’s a Ripple funded paper. I almost didn’t post it because I didn’t think anybody was going to be interested in it, but it turned out to be a very popular post. It’s featuring compelling realworld cases. Real world cases that illustrate how stable coins such as RLUSD USDC that’s by circle and USD Tether and others dramatically reduce cost in humanitarian aid and in crossborder remittances while fostering greater financial inclusion for vulnerable populations. I’ll put a link to it in the description of this video, but the response to it surprised me. I just didn’t think it was going to be that popular and sometimes I just can’t read the audience. Yes, here’s something that was announced today and nobody seems to be interested. This is Vivo Power. They are going to have their um annual general meeting today. But what’s really interesting is in this uh meeting uh they’re going to visit their strategy of course and back in August I found that they have agreed to acquire an unknown majority stake of Ripple Labs shares. Now, SBI has owned around 9% of Ripple shares and is always said to be the largest outside shareholder. But I think maybe this is soon going to change. So, if you want to attend this uh shareholders meeting, there is a link to that in the press release. It happens today. And if you’re just kind of interested in that August release and that statement that they were going to take up a majority stake, I put it in this post. Uh there is a link that will that will take you to that original announcement. But this one was I thought a big uh finding. But again, uh, nobody seems to be interested in the digital asset treasury company, Vivo Power, for this particular situation. I don’t know. I think it’s a I think it’s a big find. And here’s a find that I released on X just a little bit ago. It is the company Ripple has a mention on the front page of the New York Times today. Yeah, this is this is interesting, right? I think um yeah I think the fact that they are using Ripple as an example of how the space has changed and the SEC has eased up and Trump has warmed up to crypto. It’s uh an interesting it’s an interesting now view that the rest of the world has on Ripple. So far different than it was when they were going through their battle. But uh the New York Times is definitely one that still gets a lot of views and so it has I think some strong presence which is which is great for also the digital asset XRP. And here’s one that I hope puts a smile on your face. Yes, the Moonboys are in Japan and we love those round numbers. And for some needed fluff, I’ve got the best video for you to watch. This is Ian Cartabiano. He is the designer for Lexus and there was a concept a series of concept cars that came out from his work uh for Lexus and it’s just fun and it’s beautiful and I just want to share with you one of the designs that will really take you back. It’s the new Lexus concept van. It’s beautiful. It’s designed as a corporate car with 180 degree rotating seats. Very sharp design. Look at those wood slated shades on the inside. Oh, the big sky sunroof and moon roof with this gorgeous white leather. Here is the design from the rear. And you can see those double dies on the back. and from the front. Built a mural uh just with various funny items, what’s going on. Uh kind of inside jokes occasionally, but and then we obviously put the the AOL brand on top of it. Uh but we use this as kind of a a metaphor in talking with the press and partners about how different AOL is and how much the brand has changed. But the brand also has huge brand recognition and so uh we talked about how we are investing in the brand and one of the key things and we did the kind of white house we’re walking we’re walking. Uh, one of the things we did to talk about that is how the brand of any company is really at the heart and it’s a reflection of the products they build and the products you build are a reflection of the people that you employ. And we know that great was spelled wrong. Uh, and really great people are reflection of a great culture. And so we talked about how we’ve thought about as a company investing in building a better culture, investing in our people and that ends up building better products and that’ll reflect over the brand. That takes time obviously, but it’s something we’re starting to see more and more of the pixels we launch as a company that are more a reflection of the new AOL no matter what your tenure here has been really a new reflection of where we’re going as a company. So, uh we used the the balance of this. We talked about how you know other turnarounds in uh the valley have happened. We used Apple as an example and certainly uh it is a profound example. This was the cover story of Business Week in February of 1996 and how dramatically Apple had turned around really by focusing on building better products. I was a Mac user of a PowerBook 5300C in 1995 and it’s one of the ones that actually was catching on fire and so it was near and dear to my heart to see that the change has gone uh Apple. They’re building bad products and their brand reflected that.
