Trump Praises Japan ‘Stepping Up’ on Strait of Hormuz

President Trump welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at the White House on March 19, praising Japan for “stepping up” on Iran while criticizing NATO allies. Despite saying the US doesn’t need help in the conflict, Trump is seeking support to secure shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran disrupted traffic.

    Japan tends to align with the United States because China is its main rival, and relations between China and Japan have historically been tense

    Donald Do Wrong likes to frame every situation with card game analogies, probably because his last name is trump. But if the Iran war is a card game, America isn't holding any trump cards. The criminal in chief is a joker, or maybe the suicide king. Nobody had any trouble getting oil through the Stait of Hormuz until the joker decided to solve the problem that didn't exist.

    Unlike other languages, Japanese tends not to convey meaning directly; it is a language and cultural practice that implicitly hides true intentions behind words, leaving it up to the listener to interpret them.

    In other words, it is a linguistic system that demands interpretive skill from the listener. Therefore, it is a difficult language that always carries the risk of being misunderstood or taking on a completely different meaning if translated literally into English.

    The statement, “I believe Donald is the only one who can bring about world peace,”

    implicitly conveys the following warning: “I recognize that Donald’s words and actions have a strong influence on the world.

    Therefore, since peace or war depends on you, you should act with caution and a broad perspective.”

    I wonder to what extent Trump was able to grasp this point through a literal English translation.

    If ISHIBA had remained prime minister, Japan would be in even greater chaos than it is now.

    If NODA had been prime minister, things would have been even worse.

    This means that having TAKAICHI is better than them for Japanese people.

    Lol, just today, Japan literally just got pass safely through the straits, we pretty much didn't send warship, US should take note, no war, safe straits, what happen in middle east should stay there, gosh, I miss it when America was just a peace and neutral country before ww2 unless provoke, now we only venture out to find problems to ourselves
