Japan Must Help Open The Strait of Hormuz

The strategy is clear for Prime Minister Takaichi: she needs Japan to help with the Strait of Hormuz. They import ~70% of their oil from the region, and they cannot drop the price themselves. So the sooner they make a deal, the faster they will recover.

They don’t even need to provide any technology, because the US military and surrounding players have that all covered. They just need to provide them the insurance – and I’m estimating it’s around $4B monthly – to keep the peace. Same goes for other countries heavily relying on oil imports from the region. Just imagine if China joins in? That would be a remarkable result!

  1. China has no problem transporting its oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran does not attack China's tankers.

  2. After attacking every allied economy with tariffs and insulting them, ignoring their pleas not to attack Iran, not consulting NATO when Trump did, claiming he won the war two weeks ago while claiming he needed no help… Trump is now threatening allies to help him. Good luck with that plan.

As for Kevin O'Leary is a pathetic Randroid sycophant. Even betrayed his own homeland of Canada to Trump whose threatening it.

  3. President Bone Spur was too much of a coward to serve in the military. Kevin O'Leary is another chickenhawk that tells others to fight while he drinks lattes.

  4. Why not just leave Iranians ALONE you war monger? And get the eff out from that place. Then straight of Hormuz will be fine.

  5. 4 billion a month is an interesting figure to hear. I’ve just been waiting for one of our governmental departments to roll out the suppose insurance plan which if it is the case that we took the place of the Lloyd’s of London, that would be quite interesting and very profitable.

  6. instead of diplomacy and neutrality, you want to drag Japan and Nato allies to this messed? what's next Russia, Turkey, N Korea will come in to play? This has to end. And I hope sooner the better. And asking other countries to go open the straight of Hormoz is not only suicidal it will even get the conflict more complicated.

  7. For a country with no natural resources, they have to be more desperate to keep it open. And when it's time for our allies to step up, they better heed the call.
