Japan’s Population Crisis is getting Worse

Why is Japan Stuck in the Past

  1. The nationalists in the comments are very cute, but I really don't think they understand the kind of death-spiral Japan and Korea could face.
This isn't just about 'preserving Japanese culture', this is 'If half of your population is too old to work, and half of the remainder is too young, then you either need to gouge the working population harder/longer, or let the most vulnerable starve.'

    Cultural cohesion is great, but:
    1. Culture comes from society, not blood. You can make people fold into a national identity with moderation and policy, especially if those immigrants have kids in the host nation.
    2. A rich history doesn't mean jack if you don't have the human/economic capital to build, sustain, and defend the state — doubly so now that the US is pulling back from the world stage.

  2. Tbf, Japanese immigration is more lax than Philippine immigration, but at the same time nobody is rushing to the low wages in the Philippines. Almost a million Chinese nationals live in Japan, but they are so well integrated that they often get confused for Japanese. On the other hand, the Philippines has only around 22,000 Chinese, and they converse with the locals in English. Philippines has a net emigration of 69,000 leaving the country per year whereas Japan has around 100,000 coming into the country per year as immigrants.

    Thanks for the video, Uptin!

  3. I think 2 tear system is needed in Japan , For labor class only work permits (like in Middle East) & citizenship for skilled, business etc people, also there should be a ie 6 month course for everyone about Japanese culture so integration is easy not like in EU/UK. & no ghetto areas.

  4. Japan wants to benefit from any "immigrants" first hence their Visa system. You need to speak nihongo in trainee or skilled worker else digital nomads that got specific amount to be granted. Once youre in you will get drain from tax too but dont earn like the natives for 10years or so

  5. Why do people act like multi-culturalism is some kind of prefect goal? It can be good if done right, or it can be a disaster even. Look at Canada: you can call it multi-cultural, diverse all you want but it’s full of silos. Indians, Chinese, Arabs, White people prefer spending time with their demographic and not integrate. Go to cities like Brampton and they will explicitly discriminate against you on the basis of religion, caste, language, food preference for jobs/housing and still there would be some bleeding hearts defending this racism.

Let Japan stay as it is. No need of forced “diversity”

  6. I have been to multiple countries and I came to understand one thing that if you give freedom of speech expression and all that rights to everyone equally irrespective of their residential status in the country, you are bound to have many nefarious actors trying to disrupt it like what we have seen in the western countries like protests for Palestine. But on the other hand you won't see anything like that from countries like UAE, Saudi, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait which have significant population of permanent working immigrants propping up their economies and same thing is with Singapore as well. When you have a diverse immigrant population you have to keep a check on them. Many abuse the freedom they got and I was so shocked to see that happening to the western countries.

  7. I am sick of international main stream media like bbc, cnbc trying to gate keep the news of other country and trying to manipulate the consensus

  8. Maybe we should look for other solutions? Making it more attractive for people to have families?

But the other big problem in Japan is the low productivity per hour worked, in spite of its robotics. Solving the low productivity problem will at the very least buy some time.

  9. Japan values its social cohesion and cultural unity over rapid economic growth, even if it means enduring an economic slowdown. Despite facing at least a decade-long recession, the Japanese people have maintained their well-being and are willing to accept slower growth for the country's overall good. This willingness to prioritize national stability over mass immigration reflects concerns about integration issues and societal tensions observed in other nations with high immigration levels.

  10. Take 1-2 million people from Gaza and settle them in rural Japan. They are hard-working people who are familiar with fishing and agriculture.

  11. If if that country really needs immigrants, why to authorities arrest them every time foreigners visit Japan. The same goes to South Korea honestly, I’d fall in love with a Japanese or Korean girl

  12. There are Indonesian working in Japan. Mainly blue collar worker, working in manufacturing, fishing and agriculture sector

  13. They don't want immigrants because they can just use robots. But they don't have robots because immigrants build the robots. 🤔🤔🤔

  14. Have you seen the the United Kingdom, Australia, Norway, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden? Can you say immigration and multiculturalism is successful by bringing in the third world? No. Then why would you expect Japan?

  15. I think it more has to do with how hard it is to integrate into Japanese society. The unwritten rules and language are difficult to master. Earning the trust of the local Japanese people is difficult as well.

  16. Great content, as always! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (wonder obey dial dash soon tank spike scout region undo zero such). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

  17. Japan is demographically fucked if they continue this path. Let's not sugarcoat our words. There is only so much technology can do. They should start issueing more work visas to other asian countries.

Most immigrants actually want to just live an honest live and obey the law. This notion of every immigrant is somehow out there to harm white people is just false. But as we all know. You can't convice a racist that his world view is false. Just let them rant in the comments.

  18. 🇬🇷🇪🇺👋
    They don't need migrants

Its their right to live as they want in their homeland

Even jf it means to die of old age in an empty island in the Pacific ocean…
    Look north korea
Its their right to live miserable in their homeland and be empty land.
    🇪🇺🇪🇺🇬🇷👋🙏

  19. It's understandable that Japan chooses to limit the number of immigrants. They should cut down on the production of porn and also porn to be uncensored. Provide more incentives for young couples to have more babies. Adopting babies from an other countries is another option but many Japaneses won't do because they are racists.

  20. As an Indian my answer would either straight no or be very careful in who you let in pearmently I moved to Canada in the 70s yes Canada still had immigration just like now but the good thing was that a lot of these immigrants integrated and assimilated into the mainstream society of Canada. I can't even recognise my own country it looks like a third world country luckily I had my American citizenship so I am leaving this trash Trudeau and his fruitcake government has destroyed this nation
