Can You Really Get Free Money From Japan?
In Germany, they’re two and a half, three, whatever. The EU is weird. Fine. But for a long time in Japan, rates have been ridiculously low. You 50 basis points, 25 basis points, nothing. Right? There’s been there’s been negative interest rates at a at a certain point. So if you are, you know, a wise enough and aggressive enough investor, you’ve realized pretty quickly that you can borrow money in Japan and then export that money to the United States to wherever you want to invest it, right? And even and you don’t even have to be that aggressive. If if you yield, you know, four, five, six, 10% on that investment, you’re more than more than covering the note on the debt that you took out in Japan for practically nothing, right? So, it’s a way of leveraging a little bit of money to buy way more assets than you would be able to with your own capital, right?
