Japan’s ruling LDP elects new leader: Takaichi to be Japan’s first female prime minister

Sanae Takaichi is set to become Japan’s first female prime minister after being elected as the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party. She’s now expected to become prime minister later this month. Takaichi will succeed Shigeru Ishiba, who is stepping down after less than a year on the job.

    It does not matter who pretends to be Japan's Prime Minister this month. They are occupied by the US Military & are US vassals with no sovereignty or independence. Nothing significant can happen to benefit Japan without US approval.

    Unfortunately, she has not yet spoken about Gaza or Palestine until Now.

    Al Jazeera should tell her what's going on Gaza and ask her what she thinks, and what she should do.

    And Japan is a country that does not recognize the state of Palestine Yet.

    I believe there is a Need for Pressure on the Japanese government to recognize the Palestinian state and Punish and Ban Israeli accomplices to the Genocide.

    There is nothing wrong with praying at the shrine, it is just to thank our ancestors who suffered themselves for the Wars. I strongly support Sanae.

    Additionally her predecessor, Ishiba, was tolerant of China. Japan is now facing territorial threats from North Korea, China, and Russia. The Japan-US alliance is weaker than before because of Ishiba’s misguided diplomacy. Takaichi proposed a new foreign policy and declared that she would rebuild Japan’s economy. She also opposed accepting immigrants. Japanese conservatives are now crazy about her.

    The japanese commenters here need to realize that a war criminal is still a *war criminal. I don't care if they were a hero in your nation. It's like allowing Germany to have statues of Nazis, that is not okay 💀 Japan will never ever succeed in erasing or sanitizing its imperialist history— just like we don't let European and western countries forget about their Imperialism.

    Just to be clear, Takaichi has stated that she always visits the shrine regardless of whether the victims were from her own country or another country, and she does so whenever she visits a foreign country. Takaichi has stated that "we should show our respects to those who lost their lives for our country, no matter who they are."

    Let me remind everyone, World War II is the past. Japan has abandoned its imperialistic stance., has no territories, and contributed to geopolitical sanity through the decades post World War II.
