Trainees and teachers of Japanese swordsmanship from around the world gathered in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, to immerse themselves in samurai traditions. Aizuwakamatsu is known for preserving its ancient samurai culture. They learned blade work and discipline under famed “samurai artist” Shimaguchi Tetsuro. The trainees were instructors or students from his overseas dojos.
