Moriyama Naotaro
Born on April 23, 1976, in Tokyo, Moriyama Naotaro is a folk singer who made his major-label debut in October 2002 with the mini-album Kawaita Utawa Sakanano Esani Choudoii. Since then, he has built a devoted following across generations, thanks to his uniquely imaginative songs and unmistakable voice. He continues to release music and perform live regularly while expanding his career into acting, with roles in the NHK Saturday drama To Heal the Heart, the NHK asadora (morning drama) Yell, and the film ON SUMMER SAND, currently in theaters. In March 2022, Moriyama released his 20th-anniversary album Subarashii Sekai and embarked on an anniversary tour titled Subarashii Sekai. The 100-city national tour spanned 107 gigs, including special performances at Ryougoku Kokugikan, as well as some international shows. The live Blu-ray & DVD and audio release, 20th Anniversary Subarashii Sekai in Ryougoku Kokugikan, was released in November 2024, and his new song Shinsekai, which is the theme for the film Subarashii Sekai wa Dokoni, is available to stream now. In 2025, Moriyama appeared at numerous music festivals. His two highly anticipated bluegrass-style tracks, Ano Umini Kakaru Nijiwo Kimiwa Mitaka and Bye-bye, started streaming on May 23. Another new song, Anoyodene, the theme for the upcoming film Kaze no Majimu, is set for release on September 5. And on October 17, Moriyama will release two concept albums simultaneously: the tranquil and ambient Yuzuruha and the spirited, acoustic Yeeeehaaaaw. Launching mid-October and running into 2026, the Two jobs tour 2025~26 Anoyodene – Yuzuruha and Yeeeehaaaaw! will weave the two musical worlds together. One tour features quiet, ethereal melodies, while the other is vibrant and bluegrass-driven.
