How Fast is Japan’s Corporate Culture Changing?
For decades, Japan’s corporate identity was seen by many to be characterized by lifetime employment, keiretsu networks, and cautious capital allocation. Now, inflation, market reform, and investor pressure are forcing change. Leaders at Sony, Panasonic Automotive, and the Tokyo Stock Exchange are rethinking the way they do business.. But as Mireya Solís and Apollo’s Eiji Ueda explain, transforming balance sheets may be easier than transforming culture.

Based on the Japanese salaryman channels that are big on YT I also don’t think much has changed. Seems like long hours, very brutally rigid cultures, and low pay/prospects which is partially from Japan’s broader economic decline. I’m part Japanese and Japan is really stuck in the past – it’s cool when you visit Japan but you will continue to see a lack of growth due to the old/tradition focused mentality of Japanese culture. A lot more needs to change
Lol japanese term dude bunka is the word culture not some cool name
So the whole video vaguely talks about change but not a lot of change was described specifically except for maybe start-up’s.

more american crap i see
Said by a white person who has zero connection to Asia 😂
People love visiting Japan but would never want to work there
Older people in Japan are the enemies of the people of Japan.
They've taught us how to be slaves and be obedient than question the education system, history, and becoming innovative.
It's called 「
More young people are leaving Japan each year, with many of them joining foreign companies since graduating from undergrad.
Now the older generations are trying to blame their own problems on the young by lying that "young generations support takaichi", when it is all fabricated.
Having lived in Japan three times over three decades, I have a hard time imagining a true startup culture flourishing. The surrounding society and funding institutions are very slow moving and risk-averse, making a ‘move fast and break things’ model unlikely. The last time such an opportunity existed was in the ashes of the post WW2 period, when established forces were weak.
Been here 15 years. This is absolute delusional corporate-speak trash. Nothing will change for businesses in Japan, small or large. These idiots can barely even speak English, and this was the best they could come up with for Bloomberg! Add more editing and background music and you might get a few people to buy this idiotic trash narrative.
Fact) Japan’s aveage working hour has been shorter than the USA for years. Just Google it. Working environment in Japan meme is not reality any more.
Trapezoid harpoon
A segment on greater interest in joining smaller startups yet no startups were included?
Japan wasting time detours all day .nothing produces and very slow. Killing time numbers.
I am sorry, 4 seconds in and I am already cringing, really you just used normal every day Japanese words as "culture" to try to describe something. WHy does it sound like some cheap tiktok reel.
The Japanese don't hate themselves enough to adopt western corporate culture.
USA this isn’t your country mind your own business WTF
fockers elect a female pm and sudently they are the saviors of the universe and all their problems about population, unproductive (gdp per hour) companies no longer exist according to Bloomberg
8:30 is some downright sinister BS. He is crowing about how inflation in Japan is going to force more people to risk their money with his vulture capital fund. Disgusting. Japan needs to give him his ilk the boot.
Japan should not be relevant anymore. Bye Bye.
As someone that's lived in Japan for 10+ years now, I prefer the current way that companies operate here. Join a company and then try many things before specialising
Guys no news here. Nothing ever happens in Japan’s work place. Full, no energy, no nothing…. After the bubble. People do not know what is good or looks good. That is for decades…. Nothing CAN happen! 😂
ceos are never gonna give a straight story
