You are wrong. There are a few major oversights here. First, Saudi Arabia doesn’t just rely on the Strait of Hormuz; they have the East-West Pipeline (Petroline) that allows them to export massive amounts of oil via the Red Sea (Mer Rouge) to avoid a blockade. Second, China already has about 6 months of strategic reserves and is already diversifying by buying from Russia and Iran using the Yuan.
Saudi Arabia has another option to export the oil apart from Hurmuz, they have a pipeline from Gulf to the red Sea. The can export less barrels but with higher prices
I think this has already happened, basically. We are looking at something that is pretty much inevitable.

History has shown before that many countries have tried to cut off the US using the same scheme, but they couldn't. I don't think Iran will succeed either, this war will only serve as a lesson to all those who are trying to cut off the US, that this is not possible even in today's times.
