You're forgetting the Japanese had an empire and took slaves. They controlled most of South East Asia, China, Korea. How much money and resources did they have? How did the Germans go vs the French or the Russians? GDP doesn't equal military might on a 1:1 scale.
China has been the economic powerhouse of the world for centuries, but europe overtook them due to the industrial revolution and america overtook europe because of WW1 and WW2. I have no doubt that if the EU was created in 1900 and WW1 and WW2 never happened europe would be the global superpower. Not britian or france or germany but europe together. But two massive conflicts, a pandemic and an economic depression and Europe collapsed and never recovered. Now China is making its way back to the top and realistically the only nation that can compete is India.
China's population is dying off they arent having kids. The USA isnt having kids either, but they combat that with immigration. If China hopes to compete long-term they need to open their borders.
China just makes random garbage based on exploiting labour and the environment and the ideology stops anyone pointing out what needs to be fixed. Nothing will fix that short of changing their government and the Xi Jing Ping comes up with new ways to make China worse every day. No amount of paid videos and shills will change the writing on the wall.
