A recent outbreak of hantavirus on a cruise ship has so far resulted in seven confirmed infections, and three deaths. While the virus is serious for those infected, University of Osaka infectious disease specialist Kutsuna Satoshi explains why experts believe the virus does not currently present a broader threat to public health.
