Flying JAL Premium Economy + Hyatt Tokyo Bay & First Japan Meal!

Hello guys, it is me Vanny. I know it’s been a really really long time, but today we are here in the airport. I’m actually on my way to Japan Airlines and I know I’ve been pretty MIA for a while, but I think I’m ready. I’m ready to be back. I’m ready to vlog. And you know, these type of vlogs that I want to do is just going to be like really raw in the moment. Like no edits, no cuts, just kind of whatever. You know, right now we are actually trying to walk to a lounge cuz we have a little less than an hour to kill prior to our flight to Japan. As I’m walking there, let me tell you what’s been going on lately. I mean, the past year, I’ve been just kind of focusing on like shorts, reals, Instagram. You guys probably saw that. And then I went MIA for like a whole 6 months just to focus on like my mental and physical health. And now I’m kind of like in my health era, you know, like fitness girl health era. Can you guys tell? Like fitness wear. Going to try to go back to vlogging because honestly I just really miss vlogging. It’s really fun and I just want to try to make it more personal. So if you guys are still around, thank you very very much. I appreciate you guys. And if you guys are new, well stick around. Okay, never mind. There is a pretty long line in the lounge. So, we have priority pass and like in the San Diego airport, there are only like two lounges, which kind of sucks cuz we usually go to like the American Express Platinum lounge, but they don’t have that here. So, there is the Aspire Lounge, which is like a really pleb lounge. You can get in it if you have Priority Pass. It’s It’s not good at all. And there’s like a new one for Sapphire Reserve, but they’re both at max capacity. So, I don’t know. I think we’re just going to try to find something to munch on before our flight. Hey, we are here at Phil’s Barbecue. This has got to be probably the most depressing burger. So, my husband ordered a barbecue burger, but like it’s supposed to come with an onion ring, and there’s no onion ring on here. I’m just going to have a bite cuz we’re going to eat on the airplane. And I don’t like to be super bloated on the airplane because when you eat a lot of food, it’s got to come out and I don’t like using the bathroom on the airplane. So, [Music] right. It’s a pretty good tasting burger, though. Very overpriced. Not worth $19, but not bad. Not bad. What do you give the burger? Eight out of 10. Are you considering the price though? No. I think with the price it’s like 6 out of 10 because there was supposed to be an onion ring in here and they ran out of onion rings. They actually gave us another patty. So that’s actually very very worth it. Then [Music] Okay, we are situated now. We were able to secure premium economy, but not business. But honestly, premium economy is not that bad. Let me show you guys around. So, there’s like little slots here for you to kind of put your stuff. You do get your standard like TV. You get some slippers, blanket. It is of decent thickness. Um, I think this is just kind of for your back pillow. I don’t really know what’s in here. It’s a little sack sack of goods. I’m probably not going to use any of these. Okay. Other than the toothbrush, I’m going to brush my teeth. So, there’s a toothbrush. Moisture mask. Oh, for like, you know, masks during co. That’s nice of them. Get some earbuds and a sleeping mask. This is the leg space. It’s pretty good. You get a little bit more leg space than the regular economy. So, there’s a section here where you can adjust your seat. And then you press this. Should be able to hold on. You should There you go. So, you can kind of lay. There is like some room. It’s still a lot better than regular economy. This is the menu right here. And if I remember correctly, I think the food is the same on premium economy and regular economy. I took this last year, too. I just don’t remember. From San Diego to Tokyo, we get a grilled chicken with soncho pepper sauce or Chipotle barbecue beef meatloaf. Not sure what I’m going to choose. We also get some Hawaiian kleslaw, Japanese omelette. Pretty good. Some udon noodles, and prior to arrival, there’s turkey bacon carbonara. This is the alcohol section, and it looks like sparkling wine and Japanese sou are a premium economy exclusive. You can also order a bunch of other alcohols, but I’m currently not drinking alcohol right now, so probably going to pass on this. Drink service has came and we got some sparkling wine. Well, my husband did. He’s going to make himself a mimosa. Go, go, open it. They actually give you like a whole bottle. It’s pretty cute. I have like one sip, you know, just to try. But your girl is trying to avoid alcohol. Over here, I just have some um sparkling water. Yes. And some ice green tea. Yes. Very healthy. Very clean. It’s not bad. It’s not bad. But I think I do enjoy my green tea more. Food has arrived. Let’s go over my husband’s meal first. So, he got the western one. That looks like there’s a little meatloaf and there’s some corn, mashed potatoes, bread and butter. Pretty simple. And then mine, I got the Japanese meal. I have some chicken here for some nice protein, rice, and some veggies. Have some noodles here. No idea what that is. And then we have some coleslaw. Let’s try this first. Got to make sure I get my protein in. Some chicken. chicken is definitely um it’s pretty dry. It’s a little gy tasting, but it’s all right. It’s it’s edible. It’s not bad noodle dipping sauce. Just going to drizzle like a little bit cuz I don’t like too much sauce in general. Like that’s probably more than enough. I do love how there’s wasabi though. Freaking love wasabi. The noodles are like kind of reminds me of like soba noodles. Noodle texture is not the same though. Flavor-wise, it’s like pretty similar. Oh, this is tamago right here. pretty good. Is good sloth. It’s not bad. I like this better than American sloth. Try mine. Oh, you have the same noodles. The noodle is different. I like the noodle. Mine’s a little bit underwhelming. So, we usually try to get like two different things so we can try both. I feel like uh my husband’s is going to taste a lot better. Yeah, this is the meatloaf here. This already instantly looks a lot better. Kind of regret not getting this. This tastes like one of those like microwavable American frozen meals where, you know, you get the meatloaf and the mashed potatoes. It’s not bad, though. That’s pretty good. For dessert, they give you some hygienas strawberry ice cream. I actually don’t remember regular economy giving you ice cream, so this might be like an add-on for premium economy. I I don’t remember. If you guys do, comment down below. Let me know. It’s been a while since I’ve taken regular economy to Asia, so the memor is quite faint, but I don’t remember getting ice cream, so this is a nice touch. I know for business, they usually give you uh ice cream after your meal as well. Oh my gosh, it’s so hard. I I can’t even eat it right now. If you just kind of warm it with your tongue, the ice cream does melt. Not bad. Not bad. Pretty good. Pretty good. Last thing I’m going to eat before I take my nap. I’ve already prepared, took off my contacts. I have my glasses. These are actually my new glasses from Gentle Monster, by the way. I think they’re pretty cute. Anyways, you can also order some udon. So, that’s what I did. Udon D sky. It’s just like a little cup of instant udon noodles. There’s little bits of tofu in there. Tastes even better with the bits of my hair in there. This is honestly not bad. I can’t lie to you guys. Like I actually haven’t had a cup of like instant noodle in a really long time since I’ve been trying to eat a bit healthier. So this tastes really good, really refreshing. It’s been a while. Feel kind of naughty. I am going to go take a nap now and then I’ll be up 3 hours before the flight ends because that is when the next meal is available. Breakfast has arrived. Oh. Ooh, look at that chis. So, this is the turkey bacon carbonara. And honestly, it it looks pretty fire. A decent amount of protein in this right here. This is not bad. It’s not bad. So happy to see this. I’m so happy to have my Greek yogurt, you guys. I’ve been like on this Greek yogurt craze because Greek yogurt is just so good for you and you can get so much protein from it, my water, and my green tea. Solid breakfast. My husband is saying this is not breakfast. Comment down below. Let let me let me know. Do you guys think this is considered breakfast? I think it’s totally normal to eat pasta for breakfast. What’s so weird about this? It’s turkey bacon. Bacon is a breakfast item. And you have Greek yogurt and you have fruits. What more could you want? Breakfast is actually supposed to be your heaviest meal of the day as well. And because this is carbs, like it’s pretty damn heavy. I think all logic makes sense. It’s logic, you [Music] know. Finally off the plane. I’m so glad. I can only stay sane in planes for like I feel like 8 hours and I start losing my mind. But yeah, we are finally here in Narita airport. We have made it to our hotel. We’re in the lobby checking in now. We are staying at the High Regency in Tokyo Bay. It’s a very, very inconvenient area to get to. Like, we have to take so much public transportation. I took a bus and then I went on the subway and then I took another bus and now we’re finally here. The lobby is pretty nice though for a higher regency. Usually the ones in the US definitely do not look like this. Okay, we are here. Cute. Small but cute. Quick little room tour here. So, this is the bathroom. We got our cool Japanese toilet. It is. I And then um I think this is Oh, here we go. Shower. Shower. Shower. Yes, this is the shower. And then we have a little bath. Cute. Very cute. Have the closets here. It’s a really small room. This is the bed. And then there is a couch, but they like turned it into a bed. I don’t know why they did that. And we got the TV. This should be the fridge area right here. Let’s see if there’s any goodies in here for us. Oh, nice. Even more waters. I feel like these drinks here are free, too, because like we’re Hiatt Globalists. I need to check with my husband. I think those are free. And what are these? I love it when they give little snacks. This is like some type of interesting fruit. Maybe I’ll try it later tonight. And some slippers. Look how cute these are. Yep, that’s about it. I got to head out now. We’re actually in a rush cuz we arrived very, very late and we have a dinner reservation. I actually don’t know if we’re going to make our dinner reservation, so I’m going to try my best. We made it to the restaurant and it’s a nice restaurant. This is a sukiyaki restaurant and we get our own private room. It’s our own little private room right here. Like there’s people like eating outside but like we’re eating inside, you know? So, usually at Japanese restaurants, they’ll start you off with um these little hand towels. I don’t remember what the Japanese term is called, but you’re basically supposed to open them before your meal and then you like wipe your hands, make sure it’s real nice and clean. We have some side dishes here. This legit just looks like panchchan. Like this is kimchi right here. Okay, we have some cucumbers, some radish. This is our sukiyaki. Ooh, looks really good. We have a salad here that looks really fresh. A lot of sesame oil in here. It’s actually really salty. I don’t know. You like the salad? I like it. I’m not a fan of it. It’s like really salty. I feel like your mom makes better sesame oil salads. [Music] Look how orange this is. This is crazy. Yes, it is ready now. [Music] Oh, I remember exactly why I left Japan with high cholesterol. Now, man, their Wagyu here is so damn good. Wagu back in the States does not taste like this. So, that’s why I’m not even a fan of Wagyu back at home, but like, wow. and then dipped in this nice egg yolk. [Music] Curious if this kimchi tastes like Korean kimchi or not. I don’t think it will. Wait, what? This is some good kimchi. And it does taste like Korean kimchi, too. It tastes like some good Korean kimchi. I’m really surprised. Wow. I don’t even know what my husband ordered, but this is a Wagu. This is a Wagyu. Oh, this is also a Wagu. And we are grilling all three types of the Wagu right here. Yes, he pays and he grills. Very useful. Very useful husband. Okay. Which one was that? Tongue. One of my Oh my gosh. He ordered tongue and like he mixed up all the meat. So I don’t even know which one’s tongue now. Gosh. Uh yeah. Okay. Okay. I’ll try this one. Hopefully this one’s not tongue. This kind of looks like a shape of a tongue though. We don’t know if it is. Is it more melt in your mouth? It’s chewy. Oh, okay. Let’s try another [Music] one. This one’s more melt in your mouth. Take a small sip of this red wine cuz we’re not drinking alcohol. So, I’m just tasting tastes really watered down. Okay, this one is not tongue, so I can confidently eat this one. That’s not bad. It’s a bit chewy still. We finally made it to dessert. I think this is probably vanilla bean. Just by looking at it, I see little specks of black. [Music] I know my vanilla when I see it. It’s good. It’s nice like creamy ice cream. Japan has really good ice cream, so I never doubt their ice cream. Not too sweet. Solid. Okay, we are done eating. The total was 145,000 yen, which is like $100 USD, which honestly isn’t bad cuz there’s no tax, no tip, and service was really good. Um, overall, I would recommend that place. Go there for the sukiyaki. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend like the obviously cowong and the other fatty cut of meat. It just wasn’t worth it. But, uh, yeah, we’re just going to walk it off now and call it a night. See you guys next time. F.
