In a major milestone, India has overtaken Japan to become the world’s fourth largest economy, according to NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam. Quoting IMF data, he confirmed India’s economy has touched USD 4 trillion. Speaking after the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, Subrahmanyam said the current geopolitical and economic climate favours India—and projected that the country could rise to the third spot globally within three years. The surge comes on the back of robust sectoral growth, sustained investments, and strategic policy support.
