Briefing media after 10th governing council meeting of NITI Aayog, CEO B V R Subrahmanyam said overall geopolitical and economic environment is favourable to India.

“We are the fourth largest economy as I speak. We are a USD 4 trillion economy as I speak,” he added, citing IMF data.

  1. Economic Comparison: India vs. Japan

    1. Population vs. Economy
    – PopulationAs of 2023, India's population is over 1.4 billion, while Japan's population is approximately 125 million. This means India's population is indeed more than 10 times that of Japan.
-EconomyWhile India has recently been recognized as the fourth-largest economy in nominal terms, this does not necessarily equate to a higher standard of living or economic well-being for all its citizens. Japan, despite its smaller population, has a highly developed economy with a high GDP per capita.

    2. Standard of Living
    – Japan consistently ranks high in terms of quality of life, healthcare, and infrastructure. In contrast, India faces significant challenges, including poverty, inadequate sanitation facilities, and access to basic services. These issues highlight the disparity in living standards between the two countries.

    3.Social Issues
    – The existence of a large population without basic amenities, such as toilets, is a serious concern. Initiatives to improve sanitation and living conditions are ongoing, but progress can be slow and uneven.

    4. Visa Issues
    – The challenges faced by Indian citizens in obtaining visas for countries like the United States can be frustrating. Long wait times for visa appointments reflect broader immigration policies and geopolitical factors, which can be disheartening for many.

    Conclusion
    ——————————————————

Your concerns about the claims regarding India's economic status are valid and reflect a broader conversation about development, equity, and the realities faced by many citizens. While economic growth is an important milestone, it is equally crucial to address the underlying social issues that affect the quality of life for millions.

Engaging in discussions about these topics can help raise awareness and encourage action towards improving living conditions and ensuring that economic growth translates into tangible benefits for all citizens.

  2. Feeling very proud to be Hindustani.
This is possible only because our country's pride Shri Narendra Modi ji is our Prime minister.
    Jai Hind Vande Mataram.

  3. Let's target governance of Japan too. Still we can't make metro coaches , no software platform our own, mobiles sets still coming across boards, even apples from turkey.

  4. That's good but whether that's the only thing which matters??

Where are we at the "Per capita level" ???

What about disparity and inequality in the ownership of wealth and resources that has only increased manifold in the last decade?
Look at the gap between the have's and have nots in the country

No point in giving half cooked data and start rejoicing…

  5. If India’s cleanliness would be HALF that of Japan, we could truly celebrate.
That would require good education to all citizens.
We still have government office corridors with pan spit.

  6. Please provide the same facilities similar to Japan, and what about per capita, all money is with few individuals. Nothing to be proud , India is in improving path but still long way to go.

India should make education, health, law free and should be equal to all people.

    Rest will fall in place.

  7. Before showing this achievement as nothing go and read Bhartiya history, geography, culture everything than may be your brain recognised it's not a easy task to grow with largest population of the world with too many different languages language, culture. A country which have not enough food to eat from their they 4th largest economy

  8. Per capita income, income inequality, universal healthcare and good public education, employment and clean environment these are the factors which tells you the real reality of your own Economy .

  9. Looks like India is doing great with its "Hindu Rate of Growth", under Hindu Natoonalist Govt of Hon PM Narendra Modi and NDA Alliance. A Tongue biting moment for Arm-chair economists and Fraud Nobel Prize winners who predicted Gloom and Dooom since 2014.
