India has become the fourth largest economy in the world overtaking Japan. At the NITI Aayog meeting, CEO BVR Subramanyam confirmed that India is now a 4 trillion economy. So it’s only the United States, China and Germany which are larger. And if we stick to you know what is being planned, what is being thought through, it’s a matter of another two two and a half to three years, we would become the third largest economy. The Modi government is now aiming to overtake Germany and be the third largest economy in another 3 years. This will see it entering the super elite 5 trillion economy club. With India leaping over the $4 trillion mark, the US, China, and Germany are now the only three economies larger than India. The US boasts a $30.5 trillion economy, followed by China at 19.23 trillion and Germany sits just ahead of India at $4.7 trillion, a gap that is rapidly shrinking. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly vowed to take India to the number three position in the global fiscal ladder.
