A final prayer at sea for loved ones lost in warーNHK WORLD-JAPAN NEWS #shorts
A Japanese ship carrying war-bereaved families returned to Kobe port on June 11 after a final memorial tour of sites of fierce battles of the Pacific War. The 218 passengers boarded on June 1, travelling to ten locations including the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait and the Philippines to pray for lost relatives. The operator has been running the trip since 1991. Officials say they are wrapping it up now because of the advancing age of the participants. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
