‘One Piece’ flags flying in likely protest at Indonesian govt.ーNHK WORLD-JAPAN NEWS
Flags from the smash hit Japanese comic book One Piece have been flying across Indonesia in an apparent form of protest against the government. The banners began to appear after President Perobu Subanto called for people to fly the national flag ahead of Independence Day on August 17th. Local media say images of the fictional flags on houses and cars spread rapidly on social media from last month. The one piece story features a freedom loving pirate who sometimes falls foul of the authorities. Observers say people are using the flags to express their dissatisfaction with the government. This is a symbol of warning for the government. So they have to look at their people. Many Indonesians are flying the one piece flag because they want the government to listen to them. Indonesian law bans flying the red and white national end sign lower than other flags. But that didn’t stop the protesters. State Secretary Minister Pettio Hadi called for respect for the national flag. What becomes or perhaps will become a problem is when some parties use the creativity of these community members for inappropriate purposes. The provo administration has come under increasing criticism over its economic and development policies. Neymar’s ruling huna has announced that Minu who became acting president after a 2021 coup has died at the age of 74. Lamb said the visit contributes to further deepening comprehensive strategic relations between the two countries. He also apparently expressed the country’s goal of becoming a highincome nation by 2045. The Japanese delegation added that the Vietnamese side asked for cooperation in the fields of science and technology such as AI and other areas.
