ME & MY MUSIC: Shakuhachi Sounds – Dig More Japan

[Music] Shakuhachi flute performer John Kaizan Neptune. [Music] The traditional shakuahachi is a woodwind instrument made from natural bamboo. When I first hear muraiki, which is a thrashing breath sound, I’m going, what is this sound? It’s it’s fantastic. And this is the sound I heard. [Music] He also learned to make his own instruments from a master artisan. [Music] The amazing shakuhachi he makes are now in demand worldwide. Neptune has also become a leading figure in spreading the instrument’s popularity. He’s been playing for 50 years, but his passion remains the same. So I believe that you can live anywhere and make that the capital of the world. Musically, I kind of wanted to go someplace like Europe or India, but I can also do that from here, but I just have to do it myself. Maybe I have a chance to to live there for some time. We’ll see. Not so young, but still I have lots of energy for the music. So,
