Japan in chaos! PM Ishiba quits after Trump tariff deal; Party looks for successor

A political earthquake has shaken Tokyo. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has resigned, less than a year after taking office, plunging the world’s fourth-largest economy into fresh uncertainty. Having just ironed out final details of a trade deal with the United States to lower President Donald Trump’s punishing tariffs, Ishiba, 68, told a press conference he must take responsibility for a series of bruising election losses. Now the Liberal Democratic Party scrambles to elect a new leader. Among the frontrunners are Sanae Takaichi, a veteran pushing looser fiscal and monetary policies, and Shinjiro Koizumi, a rising star and son of a former Prime Minister.

  1. OMG, what a pathetic headline! And misleading as well. He was leader when his party lost the majority in both Houses of Parliament. That is why he is resigning. I realize that the Indian Government hates America and President Trump but a lying smear campaign is not a good look.

  2. Japan has been militarily occupied by the United States since 1945. If Japan wants to avoid collapse, it must regain its independence and join the BRICS. Working alongside Asian countries is its only chance for economic progress. The United States is no longer the political, economic, and military leader. Shigeru Ishiba and his party have betrayed the Japanese people.

  3. AI voiceover should be banned for news report channels. Also this title is fake, huge protests in Japan over the Immigration import policy all over SNS are cropping up. The Japanese have forced this pig to vacate the seat. Good job Japan. Well paid & Well skilled labour will always produce & move one extra shipping container full of goods compared to shitty cheap labour.

  4. His resignation has absolutely nothing to do with President Trump, the Japanese people are very angry about his new immigration policies. If the Japanese people do not stand up, their country will end like France, England, Germany, Canada and many other European countries.

  5. 1930->japanese empire to 2030->SouthAsian,African empire, i guess japan made it, these people will be dominant in japan just like uk just in 5 years , like they want to use these people as labours but it has effect on culture as these people dont understand culture of the current country and they are illiterate making japanse people illterate too, it is effect of mixing low iq to high iq people, the average comes down, if iq was 120 and they imported 100 iq people, now its iq is 110, 120 -> 110, Thats why only import educated ones

  6. America had nothing to do with this guy's resignation.

He's a Chinese lackey who hasn't learned a thing about immigration from other countries—he admitted it himself.
