Japan’s $135B Stimulus Triggers Panic Among Economists and Traders: What’s Really Happening?

Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has introduced a $135 billion stimulus package aimed at easing inflationary pressures and providing relief to households and businesses. However, the plan raises concerns about the country’s already high national debt, as critics warn it could destabilize Japan’s economy. Rising costs, including a 40% surge in rice prices, continue to burden consumers, while the weakening yen adds further strain on imports and inflation.

  1. In recent years, Japan's economy has mainly been supported by overseas tourism, study abroad, and domestic consumption. Affected by the tariffs imposed by the United States, Japan's automobile exports will experience a decline. After a significant decrease in tourists from China and South Korea, as well as a significant decline in the retail industry, coupled with the long-term challenges of an aging population and a decrease in newborns, it is expected that Japan's economy will experience a prolonged downturn starting from 2026.

  2. So much hateful and disgusting shameful comments against Japan and Taiwan.
PM Takaichi honors Taiwan's wish to remain independent. Nothing about attacking China.
So many false narratives by the pro-Communist groups saturating numerous online sites.
China will attack any nations that do not agree with China's policy.
They do not believe in Freedom of Speech. Instead they believe in censorship.

  3. I am from Singapore. When Japan requires a stimulus package it shows the economy is bad & investors (local & foreign) are losing confidence in Japan financial markets. This will get worse in 2026 if tensions with China continues into 2026. Japan may have an economic crisis or financial crisis in 2026.

  4. Me and my ancestors still hoping to see a paper tiger fight. But knowing that these cowards only sit and hide behind there computers trying there hardest to avoid it with lies. Meow meow paper tigers meow meow.

  5. I would bet on the japanese if things kick off. As history has shown us that the paper tiger is an easy foe to defeat….they lack courage and skill when it comes to fighting.
