Indiaโ€“Japan: The Hedge & The Wedge of the New World Order โ€ข #GoodGenerals

As Russiaโ€“Ukraine, USโ€“Iran tensions, Trumpโ€™s tariff threats and Chinaโ€™s predatory rise reshape the world order, India and Japan are building a strategic hedge. Is the yenโ€“rupee settlement the beginning of a new Asian financial wedge against dollar dominance and Chinese leverage?

  1. Of course. Two nations that bow down to USA, from hugs to 100% tariffs and insults . Stay west.
This friendship is doomed to failure

  2. The lack of a strategic culture is evident from these two jokers of former generals of the Indian Army. Just because the Jap PM paid an India visit, this general is now thinking of a hedge and a wedge. Their lack of understanding of global politics, and the strategic language is endemic of the huge deficit strategic leadership that ails our nation. They talk BS through their nose on a channel that is anchored by another joker.

  3. The combination of Modiji's Magnificent Era rapidly developing India's economy & strength, and PM Takaichi's rebuilding of Japan's awesome military is giving the backstabbing Chinese CCP some sleepless nights.

  4. What is the future of Japan-India products?
How has the very long gestated Suzuki Maruti sold around the world? or the Ahmadabad-Mumbai rail?

  5. It's all great going gun-ho when you get kicked everywhere with these events. Are we gloryfying this development; aren't we just the new hired guns keeping Japan secure? If a country can dit h someone who helped them for 80+ yrs, what is their real intention? Sure India will benefit from JP investments and tech share, but don't blow it out of proportion.

  6. General Shanker I am so amazed at the clarity of your thought process. You very clearly laid out why India Japan relationship will thrive

  7. Ingenious cooperati๐Ÿ˜ขon with Japan ! these 2 powers could change the equation in the South China Sea. India and Japan can definitely work together for mutual benefits.

  8. I follow and listen to P gurus but these retired army personnel's assessment are just read and deliver .
They lack present day strategic knowledge..to reflect global defence order

  9. Indian newspapers reported Modi government dont want to side with anyone in japan and china friction

So what is the big deal india announcing axis with japan

Indian leaders have no back bone to confront agggressive china

  10. Japan is a vassal of US. I hope that Japanโ€™s investment & tech transfer is not tied to Indian military stationed in Japan.

  11. Humble opinion for china: China should *avoid un-necessary chaos with INDia * Avoid to be manipulated by indian neighbours.*Give silent strategic support to india for Asian era & urge for true freedom like You, as india is the most resilient nation, only do not want WEST-like hegemony,*Soft factors may be used – buddhism/ Tibbet/ Kailush/ Economy / . If you can win the whole india , why You r busy with small lands / enemies? * On Myanmar – co-operation will benefit all.

  12. Thanks for a good discussion with the 2 generals. The India-Japan bilateral relationship does indeed have the potential to be transformative for the Indian Ocean-Pacific region. Of course, one can expect rivals to attempt to trip up these bilateral ties.

It is certainly beneficial for India and Japan when both countries are strong economically and militarily. India must ensure that Japanese investors continue to view India as a preferred destination .

Also, the plan to transform the northeastern region and link it economically with SouthEast Asia, through Japanese investments in infrastructure in the region, seems visionary. Letโ€™s hope the 2 countries really make this bilateral relationship a trusted and winning alternative for each other.

  13. The unreliable, undependable USA. Wow, such shit talk lol. I hear this all the time. So immature, so short sighted. So self centered. Thinking of yourselves first without regard for others.

The USA does not want to be the policeman of the world. We are redrawing the maps to include our own hemisphere and our power projection.

We have been clear in saying to our allies that we want them to defend themselves and we will supplement their forces.

How is that unreliable? If youโ€™re using NATO as an example, thatโ€™s a poor choice. NATO has refused years of after year to pay for their own defenses. So we are pulling the plug on them after saying exactly what we would do for years.

Personally, I would love to build alliances with India, but all the ill informed and childish shit-talk is exhausting.

India is having its moment in the Sun. Everyone sees India as a big world player in the next two and three decades. And the Indian people are very inflated over it.

My suggestion, realize we are stronger together. We can prosper together. There is no reason to keep poking us in the eye over your complaints

  14. We should be ready to scale up on our industrial capacity with the expertise of what the Japanese technological advances and flood the overseas market with very highend and affordable consumer goods and see how china squirms in its pants.

  15. Japan is undergoing demographic change leading to an increasing proportion of aged in population leaving fewer persons to work in industries factories and leading research institutes.

  16. All pretenders want to show they have muscles. If they are good or great emough , they can stand alone. Getting a few more fools and losers is not going anywhere.
