I sincerely wish when people compare changes in market share they would also show the market as a whole. Not doing so greatly distorts and exaggerates the story. But, perhaps that is the point, creating a sense of fear. I would think we should be celebrating the very thing that makes our world so great, the market system, the right to compete. The entry of another competitor in the world of chip manufacturing is a case for joy, not for fear.
Japanese government want independence on another countries to make their own chips and their fab(Rapidus) don't got there in some miracle, they licensed IBM's process node and dumped a lot of money on their project!
